Publication Plan
Title: Soul
Positioning Statement: Bringing you the best in R&B
Frequency of publication: Every month
Price: £2.10
Distribution: Newsagents; supermarkets; Cafés.
Rationale: The reason for the magazine is focused on the fans and therefore for the fans. I will offer competitions and opportunities for the readers to have an insight and experience of the type of things in the magazine, such as concerts, back stage, gig tickets etc. Also there will be consistent interviews and articles focusing on what the target audience want to read and ask (this will be researched), rather than what the companies and music industry will expect.
Style: The style will be both formal and informal due to certain sections that will use humour for the reader’s entertainment, and sections that focus specifically on sections referring to the genre of music etc. The magazine is for a mixed age audience but not for the elderly. Therefore it will use understandable, yet mature vocabulary and syntax.
